Lassel Architects developed a multi-year, multi-phased renovation and addition to the Kittery Trading Post. The large lodge-like structure and several green spaces landscaped using indigenous plants and products, creates a strong visual gateway into Maine.
The goal was to engage the customer with a sense of adventure and discovery to enhance the shopping experience. Parts of the existing building had to be demolished in order to make way for the new image, with new entries, a new façade, reworked interior circulation, retail organization, and a new mezzanine level above existing retail space to provide administrative offices. Site design for new parking and outdoor green spaces was provided as well.
