| Sanford Institution for Savings Branch Bank - York, ME | Site Planning and New Building |
The goal was to create a strong building to define this end of the commercial block at the corner of route one and 91 in York. The visual closure of the street is softened by the curved façade that works with the narrow and triangular site. The forms, colors and texture reflect many aspects of the local architecture. The narrow site required careful code review, site design and coordination with the Town of York and MDOT. The building's size was only possible due to the grandfathered setbacks allowed in this zone.
